Should be a shooter..... as I recall, the throat was one of those "picture perfect" examples I'd love to photograph through the borescope and post on the website.

Now, just head up north in October and get one of those corn & clover fed whitetails around Hannibal/Monroe City.... unless you have a better honey hole.

Seriously, that's a very nice rig and you'll love the Max in a carbine. I shot one of the Handi-Rifles in Max a few months ago at the club. The gent had to pry it out of my hands so he could go home.

Very versatile, you can even load it down to 38 Ballard EL power with a cast bullet for a fun and accurate plinker. A lot of guys are using this cartridge in Sheutzen now as an entry level round.

Put a nice Bushnell Trophy 1.75X5 on there.

Kinda looks like one of mine. I really like the Matte finish.
I'm sending VVCG a couple of frames to matte for me. Should look even better with the frame matching the barrels and scopes.

Definately a keeper. My wife shoots a 357Max in a 20" Encore barrel from VVG. She loves it. I even got her casting her own bullets.
