I WILL have a Contender or Encore someday, but I am just absolutely smitten with stainless thanks to the picture on the VV website, the one with the bipod!!! I really like the idea of having to use off the wall chamberings to make the Contender hum. Do you think the G2 will ever appear in SS? Should I call it a wash and get an Encore? This route would allow for a broader array of experimentation/playing with chamberings, which is it's biggest appeal factor for me. I've tried to find SS used Contenders, but those that have them must like 'em as there are few for sale.

PS- Does anyone have a pic of a Blued/Black Condender frame in a woodstock with a SS barrel they would like to share?

I'd be suprised if T/C didn't come out with a ss G2, but considering how long it's taken them to bring out the G2, I wouldn't hold by breath.

I wouldn't let the lack of finding a used ss frame disuade you from picking up a used blue frame.

I like the look of two tone guns, my ss contender has black packmeyr grips, and a black scope, and many barrels had black rings and bases.

The biggest benefit of the contender for the experimenter is the huge market of reasonably priced used barrels. You pick up a barrel for $125-150, sometimes with dies, play with it for awhile, then sell it for what you bought it for to fund the next barrel.

I think you need a contender and an encore. That is what I need, but so far, just have the contender frame.

Get a Blued frame and have it plated by either Metaloy or SSK or anyone else in this sort of line doing good work.

It's not stainless steel to be sure but it might be a viable option for you.

I'm sold on a good quality plating job.

Regards

Here's a picture of a Blue/Stainless combination. I have one blue frame and 3 blue and 3 stainless barrels. I also have 3 blue pistol scopes and 2 silver scopes, but usually they don't match the barrel, either. I mix and match barrels and scopes, depending on if I'm hunting or target shooting.

In less genteel circles, ADDICTION has been recognized as an incurable illness, and it has been widely recognized that the
VICTIMS should be treated with sensitivity and respect. In fact, there are many government and private programs intended to help the hapless victims live a normal life, despite their affliction. If your wife realized what a difficult, ongoing battle you faced, I'm sure she would be more understanding of the need for ongoing THERAPY.

I have found that VVCG's highly skilled staff of counselors are admirably trained to help you in your struggle - just give Dr. Dave a call and he'll have you feeling better in 8 weeks or less...

Mark- I think I'm beginning to see the first signs of the disorder and I haven't even contracted a frame yet!!! [Big Grin]

I have a unusual Contender frame. Anyone have a sense of what it is worth ?

It is a smooth sided (no engraving) in stainless.

Any thoughts ?
