G-2 Contenders where are they?

Anyone having luck finding a G-2 Contender pistol frame? My local dealers say there is a waiting list a mile long. Seems T/C can't produce them in high enough volume to meet the demand. Heck the boys at Hornady haven't even seen one yet for testing data. What's up with T/C?

I know where one of em is, its in my gun safe I bought it this past fall, went in to the local gunshop to pick up a stainless Contender and there was a G2 in the display case, the owner handed it to me to look over and I bought it too. That was the first one he could get, and he says he hasnt been able to get one since. Hang in there, they're worth waitng for.

Contender85: Boy you really know how to hurt a guy. I would gladly watch it for you if it needs a babysitter. Sounds like it could get jealous of your old contender. Hate to see a fight start between the two. Ha Ha.

I do however plan on hitting as many gun shows as possible in search of a G-2 pistol frame. Well wish me luck. I'll let you know if I find one.

I know where another is... in my safe as well. No-one in Pa had one , 'cept Ron's T/C's. Could not find one in any gun shop around, till I found a great deal on Gunbroker, then snatched it up. Did a trigger job and a Bellm spring and it is smooooooth!!!! Just waitin' on that right barrel to put on it.

One in my gun safe also. I called Ed's Contenders in OKC and he had them. Shipped to my FFL holder.

OK, you are tired of hearing from guys who already have a G-2. I had been waiting for over a year, as the release date was rolled from month to month to year to year. I had a deposit down at a local gunshop and got one in June 03. It was approximately the 700th one of the line that was shipped to a dealer. At the TC shop in front of the plant, a guy told me that they had backorders for "tens of thousands of G-2 frames". Surely, they are catching up by now? Go to someone you trust, put down a deposit, so the next one in will be yours. Makes a difference IMHO. Also, IMHO, the Bellm trigger kit for the Encore is a must for the G-2; turned mine into a shooter.

I hope you guys don't throw anything at me, but here goes. I just got interested in the art of TC and was in my local toy store and low and behold there sat a G2 Contender. It had a 14" .22 LR Match barrel with a 2.5x TC scope. Oh yea it was a used gun. Yep, used.

I picked it up for $450. It was in excellent shape. I was very lucky my dealer told me because it was wo hard to get your hands on a new one. Waiting lists and all. I took it to my range and it is a tack driver at 50 yards!!!

Now to start my collection of barrels, heheheheh!

thats the barrel i got on my G2 new. they sure are fun, accurate shooters! try some wolf match target, and federal 38gr hp, or 40 gr solids in it. mine has shot less than 1/2" 5 shot groups at 50 yards. i wonder if the G2 is easier to get as a complete gun? last fall, i didn't have to wait long at all after ordering it as a complete outfit.

Thanks KenTN,
I am having a ball with my G2. It shoots great and I am really getting the TC bug bad. Got a .30-30 barrel from a friend that needs some work on the rust -- but will make a great hunting barrel.

I am just waiting till this weekend for the local gun show. Hope I don't make a fool out of myself and go into a buy frenzy, hehehe! < !--color-->
