| 454 is safe in the encore, but not the Contender. |

Have you tried heavy bullets 260's or 300+ ...? I hear that accuracy is better with heavy loads with heavy bullets. But,I dono. |

| NO. I USE IT FOR THE 410 ONLY. THE CONCEPT SOUNDS GREAT(2 calibers in one) BUT UNLESS YOU SHOOT REALLY CLOSE, IT DOESNT WORK. THATS MY THOUGHT !!!!!!! |

| I'm just giving you some crap. As for the 454 in a 45-410, I'm not sure. However, if the 454 is the same dia as the 45 long colt, it should work. I don't have my manual handy or I'd look it up for you. Keep in mind, it won't be very accurate. |

| I have a 10 anch 45/410 for my Encore. I have never put a 45 colt round through it. I have from time to time seen references to a round based on the 444 marlin case that is blown out to 45 caliber and loaded at 45 colt velocities.(450 Mongo?) The longer case is supposed to provide a great improvement to accuracy. What do you guys think? Is this a pipedream or a solid possibility? Rick |

| I have a 454/410 barrel for my encore. I had the first one made from Virgin Valley. My barrel is 16 1/2 in. I also have a 22lr insert for it. |

| T/C,
I just plink with mine on the range and at 50 yards I'm able to take out soda bottles. I'm hoping that my 454 long will fit in the Otherwise i'll have reamed out, so that it's a 454 long/410.
Jeff stratton From virgin valley should remember this barrel, they made my 251 mouser express at the same time. |
