Just got myself one. No experience with the cartridge though. Anybody got any sweet loads for prairie rats and maybe deer/antelope?

Thirty-two (32) grains of H335, the 120 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip and Rem 7 1/2 primers will give you just over 2400 fps from the 14.5" barrel and has proven to be a true tack-driver in a number of XPs. That load will work on everything you mentioned and is one of the very best single shot pistol loads I've ever used for deer inside of 250 yards.

Bobby is right on the money. Mine digests 33.0 of the H-335 for slightly under 2500 fps. Shot several coyotes and two Blacktails. Excellent accuracy.

Liston to Bobby, he knows. Big Grin
I got that load from him when I got my 7BR XP and Encore. Mine was shooting okay with IMR4895 and the 120grn BT's but when I went to H335, it closed the groups and a much cleaner barrel after 20 rounds. Very good round for deer, and varmints. I have taken two coyotes this spring with mine. I put a 2x7 Burris Ballistic Plex scope on it and it is shooting great out to 300 yds which is all my range will allow. Confused
Good luck with your 7BR. What type of stock did you get on yours? Cool
Any photos?
Mike

Bobby,

Do you think 335 will match my varget/2015/4895 in a rifle in speed?

I have a custom in 21" barrel

Every gun is a rule unto itself, but considering the cartridge's expansion ratio and that 120 grain bullets will probably be your preferred projectiles, I'd say H335 would at least match the velocity of the powders you've listed and perhaps even exceed them in certain scenarios.

Thks guys. I tried the 4895s - not what I thought it should be. Best I've found so far is BLC2 pushing the 139gr Hdy SBT. Going to try the H335 before I say it's done.
