Hey fellas...here is the list of data I have developed to this point for the .25 Classic. I know a few prople have ordered barrels in this chambering so here is some stuff to get you going. These are ALL MAXIMUM LOADS!!! If you keep this data for personal records, REDUCE by 15% before starting. The temperature during range work was from 30 degrees to 60 degrees.

The loads were developed in a 15" Virgin Valley Chrome Moly barrel. As a note to the barrel quality...this bugger is NICE!! Normally I clean any particular based on when its needed. Some that may be every 20 rounds, other it may be every 50 rounds. After a short break-in (which I think could have been skipped), I went 100 rounds before cleaning. This thing is slick inside! I got not one patch that showed a hint of copper. Not to mention that the exterior finish and lettering is superb. Much better than their barrel making counter part just up the road. I also used a VV custom laminate benchrest forearm with VV hanger bar. Bases and rings were also purchased from VV. (www.virginvalleyguns.com or (435) 635-8941 or E-mail: sales@virginvalleyguns.com)

Optics...only the best!! A Burris 3-12x32 Ballistic Plex scope was mounted and performed flawlessly as usual. (www.burrisoptics.com)

Dies...the .25 Classic dies are made by Redding for the Woodchuck Den. (www.woodchuckden.com or (330) 897-0614)

Bullets were seated just touching the lands...I don't have the OAL measurments with me at this time. I used Sierra (http://www.sierrabullets.com/)and Starke exclusively for all development.

Cases...reformed from RP 30-30.
Primers...CCI200

An Oehler 35P was used to measure all velocities 10' from the muzzle. The loads with "XXX" in the fps column read as errors...this was due to fading light and muzzle blast. Again...I will mention...hese are ALL MAXIMUM LOADS!!! If you keep this data for personal records, REDUCE by 15% before starting. More in depth detail will be posted later. For now I am completing the article for Small Caliber News.

Enjoy......Dan B.

Dan,
Thanks for the info. It will come in handy I'm sure.
The only load I've had time to work up in mine is with the 75gr. Horn. and 30-31 powder. Max. is 28gr. @ 3032 in my barrel.

DanB. Looks like the 25 classic and 257TCU have about the same case capacity. Your max loads with W748 and AA2460(with same bullet weights) are the same as mine in the 257TCU. Your velocities are a little higher than mine by about 75fps-100fps.

Give 24.5gr. IMR 4198 85NBT @ 2700fps a try.
