mine is a super 14" factory 30-30 ackley improved. i'm liking it very much indeed. shoots great, but i will not find out how well the deer like it for another month. imr4198 ,130gr hornady ssp, 2588fps. i'm thinking the deer are not gonna like to see me packing this baby in the woods. i think it is really overlooked by most. i can't think of another barrel i'd prefer for deer in the contender. i feel pretty much the same way about the 7-08 in a encore.

i picked up a bag 50 rounds of 30-30 brass at a gun show the other day for $2.50.
