Loose Screw in Contender Frame

While out shooting the other day I removed the grip on my Contender to attach the carbine stock and a screw with a spring around it fell out of the bottom of the frame. The screw fits in a "U" shaped slot under the place where the grip stud screws into the frame. I put the screw back in and tightened it down and everything seemed to function normally. Should I use some mild LockTite on this to keep the same thimg from happening again or just rely on tightening it down to hold it in place?

That's the trigger guard return spring & screw. It can be lock tited in place to avoid that from happening again. Be careful not to over tighten that screw. It can causes other problems if tightened down too much. Mike Bellm is a good source to ask about the screw & spring.

A loose screw under the grip is better than a screw loose behind it....

Thanks for the replies

Whether there is a loose screw behind my Contender or not is still open for debate [Big Grin] .
