If I have my ducks lined up on the pond, yours has the short throat. There are several yet to go, and yours is the one with the soldered on front sight and 6 grooves, as best I remember. Bottom line is that it will have an all new throat with no remains of a toilet bowl ring remaining in it. Should be excellent. Mike

Yes, it will. It's a great cartridge in the Contender. A "sleeper" if ever there was one. Regards

i think so too. its been a few years now,but the max n' the .44 mag was my first two barrel's..i bought them at the same time.. i liked the .357 rem max the best right off the bat. im just almost positive my ''next'' custom barrel will be another max. but in carbine, buckweet,, p.s. was told a few week's ago that i've been ''brainwashed'' by mike bellm... guess what ??? IM GLAD !!! LOL..!!!! buckweet
