1)Does anybody have a used leather belt holster for a 10" or 14" NON-scoped Contender they wish to part with? Does anybody have any or know of any holsters (leather) for a 6.5 inch barreled Contender? 2) Duo scope mount and rings does anybody use these? How do they work and are they only for light loads or are they good enough for the heavy stuff? 3) TC quick detachable scope mount and rings does TC still have them avaiable? why and when did they discontinue them? Are tney sufficent for heavy loads or just light to medium stuff? Has anybody used them and have any comments on the durability? Do they hold zero when the scope is removed and replaced? any info on these scope mounts would be appricated. 4) Does anybody have the feb issue of one good shot they wish to part with I have yet to read it and I think TCA let my membership laps or I did while I was in hospital I would like to know exaxtly what is going on so I can rejoin if possible. I know they have been skinping on members lately and I have not recieved the required number of issues of the magazine for the last couple of years. 3 instead of 4 that I know of. Last I heard the place was falling apart any info would be appricated thanks. Thank you for any help on any of the above questions or requests above. Jim L

To address the duo ring question... they don work well for heavy recoiling guns. They weigh too much for the four screws that hold them. They quickly departed my 358JDJ with break. They work OK for smaller stuff, but all in all they're not great because they are strangly made. They aren't always "true". Straight up and down, they often lean one way or the other, just they way they're made. That's not real helpfull to accuracey in real life shooting (not always at the same set distance). i wouldnt buy anymore.

I use Leupold QD mounts on my Contender barrels (7-30 Waters, 38-55, 357Max)I have had no problems with them, scopes go back to zero so far, my gunsmith suggested that I have the mounting screws enlarged to the next size up to handle the recoil. This is what he does with his Contenders/Encores, and I had him change mine also. I had him do it after one of my scopes starting shooting all over the place, then I noticed it was flopping up and down, screws just about pulled out, ruined a nice day at the range, geeze. Hope this helps some, Peter
