I am off to chase the mighty elk with my 358 win again. I have seen 5 bulls and 4 cows but only had the cows in a good shooting position. All the bulls have been moving and over 200 yards. 2 of the bulls were in the 330 class or bigger. I have 4 days this weekend and access to a new ranch next to the BLM I was hunting on now. This is hard country for a hand gun hunter, in that it has big valleys that tend to make for long range shooting. But hell I am hunting and what more can I ask for. My son-in-law killed one of the cows and he was ready to go home after 2 days of following the old fat man up and down the hill. I have one speed slow but I am not smart enough to stop yet. Good luck to you all. Olefish

I'm jealous. I was supposed to go last week to SW CO to hunt with my pistol and work wouldn't allow it. It won't be long before WORK will be behind me and I will just have to schedule my hunting between my honey do jobs then.
I hope all of you score on your elk. It sure would be fun to take one with my .375JDJ or 45-70 Contenders.
My neighbor just got back from the trip I was going on and he took a 5-4 with one of my rifles. I did get some steaks.
Again, keep us informed of your hunting ventures.

Mike
