Steve, Great Job, Thank You! I just downloaded the Encore Trigger CD,it's an easy download and it works great. I appreciate all the time and effort you have put into this project, as well as the time spent to get Mikes Web site back up and running. Mike, Nice job on the CD. Thanks to both of you! Mark

Hurray! Worked great for me, too! Steve is the guru alright! I assumed erroneously that the pages would be a subdirectory in the website files that one could click through online without having to download. But this works great! Steve, is it practical to put all the pages up so as to click through online? I am happier than a clam at high tide, but wonder if others would prefer it online? Just thinking. I assume also that the files should copy to floppies or CDs so as to free up space one's hard drive or drives. I copied to my main hard drive, but it should copy to floppies also, shouldn't it? Great Job, Steve! Anecdote with a moral: Mom was coming home with groceries one time when I was a kid when her friend Edna pulled in. Included with the groceries was a case of toilet paper. Edna's comment was, "Well, now there is no reason for any Bellms to be running around with dirty butts." Moral. You have a case of information on how to do Encore trigger jobs. It is freeeeeee, and you have no reason to suffer along with a rough, heavy Encore trigger. At least now I get credit for being the source of the information. You might send your friend Craig Forshee a big thank you for making the material available for free instead of being pirated and sold. Mike

Mike I downloaded the file with no problems. Steve you did a great job. I assume also that the files should copy to floppies or CDs so as to free up space one's hard drive or drives. I tried to transfer it to a floppy disc & my computer said to put a larger capacity disc in & retry. The floppies that I have are 2.0 MB. Since I am really a beginner on computers I don't know if you could get a floppy dic with enough space or not. Just figured I'd let you know that I tried it. Rich Jake

Glad it is working for y'all. I've gotten one email re: the pic's being blurry, but I'm thinking this is a size/resolution problem and I'm working with the gentleman to determine that now. Next will come the HTML version, or possibly Acrobat Reader. I want to make it something that will print out well on anyones machine. Including you MacHeads out there. You have GOT to love the data - I smothed my trigger up and without replacing the spring took it from ~6# to 3.5#. Well, I was GOING to replace the spring - but I did it in a room 18x20. It is SOMEWHERE in the room I am sure, but I figure I'll find out about it when the wife runs over it with the vacuum. Ok - now for the problem... Bellm w/ a clean butt AND his picture. So many jokes here that I'm not even going to try. :-) Thanks for all the nice words. Thank you, Mike, for all the great resources you've given us. On this note - Mike's site is for Mike's stuff. However, my site is always open for other things Contender, so if you have a good article, special pics, etc, let me know and I will try and get them on my site. Have a great day, and y'all let me know if I can help. steve

Glad help with the info, guys. Sorry about the photo of me. I don't pose worth a hoot and never could improve on what Mother Nature did, but she don't make barrels. If she did, I could surely find a better way. Blasphemy? Mmmm, maybe? My mug? Again, sorry 'bout that. Might have been better if the parts pictures were clearer and me blurred out entirely! My local bear hunting guru does a lot of ebay biz in antiques, and his wife has gotten pretty good with enhancing pics. I am goint to take a rewritable CD to them tomorrow and see what she can do with the existing photos. Some of the photos have been a source of complaint from day one. Granted some could be better, but if you look at the photos and text on either side of the poor ones, you will get the jist of what needs to be done. It is there. We just never did reshoot the dark photos. Conflicts with Forshee started about 5 or 6 months into the project, and I backed off some.... only part of the rest of the story which prudence dictates I discuss only privately. However, bottom line is that individuals can now make a silk purse out of a sows ear on their own. And if they don't want to tackle the work themselves, they can at least see how I go about it if they want me to do the work. Plus, when it comes time to take the frame apart for a good cleaning, they have the process in front of them to go by. Another Plus..... if someone does a trigger job for you, you now see explicityly what safety function checks to make to be better assured the frame is safe to handle. This applies to trigger jobs done by TC factory personnel! I had one come in that supposedly had been done by TC, and the hammer pushed off with ease! They had ground away about half of the sear notch! It shortens the travel/engagement alright, but the hammer would just barely stay cocked! Get the picture. Learn your TCs. That is my admonition and what I am trying to help you accomplish. In the process, I could give a rat's backside what TC and all the panderers of TC's pretty "drill press" stuff think about it. That's why Steve and Tim dubbed me "The TC Heretic," I suppose. Or was it because I carried a 12 ga. auto shotgun loaded with slugs and 00 buck bear hunting? A "TRUE" TC aficionado would sit there as bait with scent all around with a just a single round and access routes for bear about 20' away. I remain, "The TC Heretic"
