An e-mail acquaintence of mine dropped me a line to tell me about a rifle he wants to sell. I was interested until he told me he'll have to add $30 to the price because he now must ship it FFL to FFL instead of directly to my dealer, which is perfectly legal and something we've done twice before. But do you know why he must do this???

He is listing or was about to list it at GBO, and the new "law of the land" is that you must state in the ad that it will ship FFL to FFL, no matter what the real law states -- or the ad will be deleted and you lose your GBO privileges (aka the dreaded "being banned").

I called him and told him I could not stop laughing thinking that he'd actually listen to such nonsense or even be part of it. Many of us here used to frequent GBO long ago until we saw the light and refused to put up with the big fish in a little pond attitude.

And for those of you who thought the crap ended with the Mike Bellm debacle, it apparently didn't...

By the way, my buddy also told me that if you type "Bellm" into a post, it comes up as ***** -- so the little whiny kid still hasn't grown up!

Bobby, now that just goes to show how really petty the old control freak is. The law of the land is not good enough for the old power grubbing control freak, so he now thinks he is above the law and in order to assert his heavy handedness over others, resorts to using liberal tactics and philosophy over fellow shooters, making their lives more complicated and costly than state or federal regulations require. That is really irrational and injudicious! Another reminder of why I will not go back to the open cesspool drain, er pond, er….

I haven't been over to GBO in a long time. Sounds like as the pond continues to dry up, the swamp fumes must be intensifying their effect on ole big fishes head.

It might state in the add that i goes FFL to FFL, but how many really agree on it?

Mike-You are absolutely right: He can't possibly enforce that nonsense (though he did get caught reading PMs of the members a while back, so you never know when "he" is lurking!).

It's just a sick attempt at a power play to keep his flock in check...
