| I read that the law will go into effect 3 years after the "smart " gun is developed and is reliable. What ever happened to the "smart " gun owner, are they are trying to give life to a piece of steel ? |

| All handguns manufactured after 12/31/02 will have to be equipped with an integral lock of some kind. Only six (I believe) makers offer this at present, Taurus being one of them - a hex key that turns a stud in the back of the hammer to lock the action, or something along those lines. This was Spendening's last atrocity perpetrated upon the gun owners of MD, and hopefully will be one of the first that Gov. elect Erlich will want to examine for repeal.

| BTW, the law does not affect guns manufactured before the turn of the year.
