if you want more power and easy / low cost case 30x45 is very nice with tight chamber you can get same accuracy than 300 Whisper but not at subsonic level but you get better velocity without toxic pressure .

just check what bullet you plan to shoot and what OAL you plan to use , most Single shot have very deep throat and that not the best for short bullet accuracy

Envision a 357 Max case with a 30 caliber neck about .25-.3" long.

Jim Rock chambers them in the RPM (is that right) and has (did have) the dies. Lee made the dies so they should still have the reamer and drawings. Seems like the perfect thing to clean up a bad 30 Carbine chamber!
Seems like the ideal replacement for the 30 Herrett for those that want some zip, but NOT the 308 Bellm or 309 JDJ amount of zip.

Why not a 300 Win Mag in a Encore? Much More power. The problem I see with the 300 Whisper is that everyone forgets what it was designed for. It is a sub sonic round that is highly supressable for military use. It was designed to shoot slow speed heavy bullets acurratly and quietly. Hence the name Whisper. Yes it can be loaded up but that is not what it was designed for. Jeff

That hard to make cheaper case than 223 case other nice thing in 223 , all brand are available from low cost once fired mil case up to Lapua so that a fine way a custom caliber at adfordable price

if subsonic load is ok in 300 Whisper dont forget to check free bore some chamber are specific to 240 SMK other for 220 SMK and that not a real nice thing than to shoot short bullet in very deep throat chamber
