26" untapered Virgin Valley Custom Guns (VVCG) blued Contender barrel (no frame) in .223 Remington with target crown and 1:8 twist. Has given sub-MOA with everything from 40 to 75 grains, and I've fired a number of sub-1.5" groups at 300 yards with the Hornady 75 grain A-Max and Re-15. Lightly used; shows modest handling and is in excellent ++ condition. Included will be a special Virgin Valley target-type forend made of pepper laminate. It is 13+ inches long, app. 2.25" wide, features a sling swivel stud and a full-length finger groove for added support to make both field and bench shooting a breeze. It is set up with a hanger bar. The barrel is a scope-only setup as it is not d&t for a front sight. If you can shoot a Contender well, this barrel is a real eye-opener, especially with 69 to 75 grain bullets. (I won't separate the barrel and forend). BTW, the 75 grain A-Max, at an easily-attainable 2900 fps, provides over 1,000 ft. lbs of energy at 200 yards and puts the little .223 in another light power-wise. $280 shipped in the US.

Trapper Gun Works 14" blued Contender barrel only in 6-223 (.223 case necked up to 6mm; dies are available from MidwayUSa for app. $27). Used, has some minor frame rubs and has a few minor scratches/handling marks, but overall it is excellent. I am told it came from a gunwriter's estate and that it has a 1:10 twist. I did not check the background or the twist but can tell you it stabilizes the 80 grain Nosler BT just fine (slower twists seldom stabilize this bullet) and turned in some excellent groups with virtually no load development in my limited shooting of this barrel. This is a scope-only set-up. $210 shipped in the USA.
