My oldest son drew a special youth deer hunt this year and I'm thinking about buying a pop up blind to take on the hunt. Other than on hunting shows, I've never seen or used one of these things and I'm wondering if they are worthwhile??
I found an Ameristep "outhouse" blind for $75........does anyone know if that is a decent blind??
Thanks, Mark

I was thinking the same thing Mark. I saw a couple on ebay and I was wondering how sturdy they were in windy weather.

A guy form my work bought a pop-up blind and was sure he had stuck a fat hog in the ass. I guess he forgot he was in Kansas. About sun up the does came out, the wind picked up, suddenly he was sitting out in the open by himself, and the blind had joined the tumbleweeds in the fence row. He never said anything about it but his kid ratted him out a couple months later. Said the does did not stick around long enough to draw the big bucks out. Had to be a real sight to behold! Mike

I you take the time to place it correctly, stake it down and place some brush to mask the fornt a little without interfearing with you sight or shot they are GREAT.
The outhouse is a good model with alot of room. I havn't bought one yet nut like to looks of the DoubleBull stand myself.

Don't forget little stools and also to practice getting ready for the shot and if archery shooting from inside the blind.

Good Luck!
