There's been a .22LR for sale local for YEARS. Looked at it again the other day. Hmmmm...... very neat, though I'm surprised at how large and heavy it is. Thought it would make a good small game gun, but it's kinda big, and weighs more than many of my 22 rifles, let along Contender. Luckily they want too much money for it.... so it's still there. Like I say, it's been there for years. I'll have to low ball them one day, see if they blink.
Anyone shooting one?

I paid $500.00 for mine in 1999. It is a left hand bolt, right hand eject, 10" barrel model. It has a 2 oz. trigger, Bomar rear sight and globe front sight and a crocked leg counter balance that I use in Silly-wette match's. Any day of the week it will outshoot me. Took a while to get used to trigger, boy is that an understatement. It taught me what a real gunsmith can do with a trigger, no creep, no backlash, touch and go is a fine art and worth all the practice effort.
Yeah... I have a real problem now. I looked on line at what they're going for. It's in fact not "too much" , but rather a darn good price. Hmmmm.....
"Too much" to keep my T/C barrel AND have an Exemplar anyway. Could sell the contender barrel... Hmm... that would cover 50-65% of it right there.... hmmmm....

I am awaiting the arrival (hopefully will be here any day now) of a new for 2003 Anschutz Model 64 L P Varmint & Target Handgun. This one is made with the Left Hand Anschutz Match 64 Action, has a 12" Barrel (without open sights), and is set in a Synthetic Stock. My dealer quoted me a price of $480.00 NIB.
For a number of years and until 2003 Anschutz had only been offering these handguns with the Right Hand Action from what I have been able to learn. When they quit putting Walnut Stocks on them and started with the Synthetic the name changed from the Exemplar to just the Anschutz Model 64 P. I have found several of the Synthetic Stocked Right Hand Versions, but none of the Left Handed Synthetic Stocked version.
It was my understanding that the 1416 Exemplar and the 64P are different animals. Maybe I misunderstood, but from what I hear the Ememplars are more in demand.

Check out nealjguns.com for more information. Mine is stamped as made in West Germany so it is an older model Exemplar. Left hand ejection is a little rare but was available from factory on both the 10" and 14" barrels. What is rare is the Exemplar in 22 Hornet caliber, I have heard tell and seen pictures of and read reviews but have not found yet.Thanks.
I have a Bond CG Anschutz that is a laser, shot an 80X80 with it last year at Tusco. Also last year I won a 64P in a raffle, RH bolt, plastic. The trigger is not as adjustable as the exemplar but still has the accuracy. Shot a 50 with it the first time out. I did notice that the grooves for the scope rings are not properly lined up. I had to shim the rear mount. Otherwise with a Bushnell Elite 3200, ran out of adjustment at 75 yards. Tried several different rings and same problem. On the Exemplar, the easiest way to work the trigger is get a conversion button from Lansing that takes out the 2 stage to a conventional one stage. Mr. DW

I have a long version that I use in Small Bore Unlimited , barrel length is 14" , it shoots like a dream , much better perhaps than I will be ever able .........! It cost me about 360$ (5 years ago) NEW , I`ve never seen the other model in reality , that is based on a different action .But to me it is ugly in the first place and why pay more for no gain in precision !? They are all made here in Germany in Ulm at the Anschtz factory.
