I got to seriously reviewing each of my barrels the other day and noticed several that have one piece lugs. They all open ok on either of my frames so is there any real reason to change them out? LouisB

LouisB In my opinion, as long as they work OK I don't see any reason to change them. I have a solid lug in my 10" 222 barrel and it wont open.....I know others say they have had good luck with T/C sending them new ones, but I called them the other day and the tech. I spoke with said, I need to send in the barrel to have it replaced because there are 3 different sized lugs and they (especially the Contender barrels) need to be gauged so they can get the correct one installed, I then told him that I had called one other time and had one sent to me(cost me $12.00) and his reply was,"they really shouldn't be doing that" So, it looks as though I'll have to send it in...Anyone else run into this before? Ain't this a deal? TC has sent me (Tim P.) locking lugs to replace some solid ones, no charge. The first ones they sent me were blue, put them in and they wouldn't work either. Called them back and told them I had taken a set out of another barrel and no problem. The only difference was they looked like a matte SS, I told them this and they assured me they only had a standard lug that they used in ALL their barrels. Another couple of days a package shows up from TC, what do you know a set of lugs that looked like alloy or a matte SS???? They worked fine. Called them a few weeks back, wanting some screw blinds, free, yeah right. I wanted two but the freight was going to be more than the screws. Oh well. Jeff
