Hi Folks,

I'm looking for a new scope for my .223 Contender and I'm having a real problem finding anyone who carries any selection of variable pistol scopes greater than 6 power.

What are the reliable mail order places that have a good selection of scopes like 3X9 and 3X12 scopes?

Thanks for the replies. I've tried Cabelas, but either I'm looking in the wrong place or all they carry anymore is Simmons an the max is a 2X6.

Midway has a better selection, but a lot of them are out of stock so no joy there.

That SWFA seems to have a good stock. How are they to deal with?

Are you REALLY SURE that you want more than a 2-7X? I put a Thompson/Center Recoil Proof 2-7X scope on my 357 Herrett. I rapidly found that the narrow field of view and magnification of minute movements of the scope were a handicap. Since that revelation, I don't think I've ever shot it at more than about 5X. Once in a hunting situation, I had to turn it down to 2X at about 35 yards so I didn't see just fur. I do like the T/C 2-7X scope by the way.

Sportsman's Warehouse and Natchez both carry Burris, simmons, Weaver and Nikon. Natchez also carries the Bushnell Tropyh and Trophy Hunter.

I was looking at M&M Trading post last week he had a list of scopes that was on sale.Prices did not look bad,I think he is going out of business.

I just bought my 2-6 Bushnell elite from the optic zone. Good prices and nice people.

I saw up to 8 power in handgun scopes (Leupold), looking at all the standard places, but that's it. FWIW.
