Tommy-
I did get your e-mails, but our Outlook Express is locking up, so I haven't been able to view the images. I hope to get it all ironed out in the a.m.

As soon as I do, I'll check them out and get back with you.

I HATE computer problems!!!!!

Tommy-

I finally got to take a look at the cases, and I can only come up with one thing: back your spindle assembly out perhaps an 1/16th" at a time and try a few more cases that way. I think that may solve your problem. Once the brass is fireformed, the spindle can be dropped back to the standard length, and all should be fine -- or so I do hope.

Hope this works...
Bobby

Bobby I have been working with the 6x45 lapua cases with 80 gr bullets. There is also a donut in the 6x45 lapua cases? I hadn't noticed before as I was loading shorter bullets It really isn't a problem with the shorter bullets. I had tested 20 rounds with the 80 gr bullets and noticed that the necks were very black on the outside. Not what had been with the shorter bullets. Seating the longer bullets shoves the donut out and and not getting sealing on the rest of neck. Shot pretty good and am going to only use 80 gr bullets during deer season so really not a problem but different. Maybe contact Sinclair for a donut removal tool.

K&M has their Micro-Adjustable Neck Turning Tool and you can order it with a carbide pilot that will remove the dreaded dough-nut. If you go this route you will also want to use their Expandiron Case Neck Expander so you won't have to worry about galling necks or having to much run-out and their being slop.

If you know or already have these two things please disregard post.

Ernie the thing that puzzled me was I'm not turning necks. I think Wilson has a neck reamer that works on the case trimmer and think I might try that. Thanks for the reply
