My short answer to this is that the whole situation sucks!

It's not surprising that the government sees another potential stream of revenue and is going for it. It will surely slow down online sales...I just don't know how much. I think the Internet is still the best way to do comparison shopping, but now it looks like it might lose a bit of it's advantage.

I will be very disappointed if the government goes back on one of the really good decisions they have made recently regarding taxation.

I don't know but our forefathers must be turning over in their graves. Excessive taxation was part of the reason this country was started. Seems to me we are no better off now ! What happened to this country????

I guess from the standpoint of the state governments, with their fiscal problems they are currently having, this is simply a new way to glom revenue.

This will create a nightmare for companies trying to navigate through a morass of figures, calculations and paperwork. I don't care how much it is "simplified".

The "Greedy Hand" is never far away. It's only a matter of time before the government really starts interferring with the internet and taxation is just ONE of the ways they will do it.

Maybe if the state governments stopped pissing money away during the good times, they would have some leeway when the slower economic times came around.

Just another example of the bloat in government in general and the legalized theft that accompanies it.

Regards

Another thing that upsets me is how we are giving away BILLIONS of our tax dollars to other countries for assistance. Take Egypt for example, we write them a check annually for $2 BILLION dollars and the people of that country basically hate us, not to mention that OUR debit keeps growing?!?!?!? [Confused] [Mad]

When is this WASTE going to stop????? I believe in sharing the wealth but think that we need to take a HARD look at who we are giving to.....there are plenty right here at home that could use those monies!
