When I got back from town tonight, ready to take Dee to supper for the first time in a long time that she has been up to it, I was greeted with a message that buckwheet and Pat were waiting at the rest stop just across I-5 from us! Quite a pleasant surprise. So we all went out to supper tonight and had a great time.

buckwheet did not make it to the gungeon, but I strongly suspect he will be back one of these days and you may very well see HIS mugshot chambering his first barrel along side 1bubba's.

buckwheet, when you read this, it was a pleasure having you stop in, and we both enjoyed meeting you two. Ya'll come again! Bring a barrel next time.

Mike, the guys on yahoo chat were wondering if you got 'weet to sing for his supper? You know some of Branson robbed off on him.

Actually, he's from the upper end of the Truman Reservoir and may not have been close enough to Branson for it to help. We could see Branson's lights at night from where we lived, and it sure didn't make a singer out of me!

When I called him on his cell phone this evening, as luck would have it, he was passing through right as I called and was on his way to Medford to pick up a load.

We had a great visit the evening before, and look forward to seeing him and Patty again. Great folks, both of them, and a joy to be around.

If I didn't do enough to entice them back up here last night, tonight I laid it on pretty heavily about the ground squirrel shooting country they will be travelling through tomorrow in northeast Kalifornia on their way to Reno. I have not indulged in ground squirrel shooting yet, but I understand the prime shooting starts in about March sometime. Alturas and Cedarville are two prominent areas I am told.
