Well thanks for letting me know. Honest to Pete, I was just going to sign off and get on the phone. I have been having so much trouble with my 308 factory barrel I would have used it for elk here in 6 weeks. Well, I have also been saved from putting factory ammo through it. [Roll Eyes] Slim

this should be kinda nice for both my son and I
I really never felt completly safe with the 444Marlin. It was always on the back of my mind that it could split the barrel......I know everyone says they are safe...Well NOT everyone.
I just feel better with my son having a 45-70 in his hand instead of the 444.

Fireball,
If you are using a credit card, you should be able to use it right away. But if your doing it on your checking account through your bank...you'll have to wait till your bank has been confirmed. Takes a couple of days.

Enjoy it. Just be careful, we don't want it to become a Fireball buster now.

Thank you for buying it. It was making me crazy looking at it! Please post your results with the barrel. I would be interested in your opinion.

I guess you can give DVH a call and see what he has.
I'll be gettin the 250imp soon and I think i'll be stickin with the 30 calibers and smaller from now on. I have the 358 and 444 and that's about as much abuse as I care to take from my contender.
I think my next will be a 6.5 or 7 something. I also really like the 44mag for just about everything and I may get another in a 14" custom barrel.

Fireball, If I would have known you wanted it for your boy I would not have bought it.(not) [Big Grin]
It will have a good home. I might have to get rid of my guide gun now.
