I finally got to the range with the XP in 6x45 I got from Bobby Tomek. I really feel bad about buying this one as I think the fellow shot all the misses out of it! I didn't shoot any paper, but did beat on a few steel targets. All I can say is that this one is a shooter. Roughly measured a few on 150 meter turkeys and the three, only three I had left, measured a little under an 1 1/2". These were just starting loads. This was in a creedmore position and not off the bags or bench. I think with some fine tuning I should be able to cut the group size in half. The scope I used is a 5X Burris with the target turrets. The eye relief seems to be some what longer than some of the other straight power scopes I have used. This scope has a smaller objective than I normally use, but field of view was still good. I think one contributing factor into the group size was the AO on this scope. I am fairly well convinced that the AO is a must much past 150 yards. This subject came up a while back on another thread. If Bushnell would make the AO an option on their 3200 series handgun scopes they would put some of the Burris and others out of their league as far as the eyerelief issue. I am just itching to get my chronograph to see what the 6 TCU and the 6x45 do in comparison to each other. I am really planning on using this one for 1/2 size IHMSA UAS. For those of you that don't play this game, the chickens at 50 meters are about the size of a quail, the pigs at 100 meters are about the size of a gueinea pig, the turkeys at 150 meters are about the size of a chukar, the rams at 200 meters are about the size of a rabbit. What ever you guys do, don't go to an IHMSA match, it's an excuse to buy more barrels or a whole new gun. There are some that make this look easy. But it can be a humbling experiance to some that think they can't miss. I will quit rambling. But I will DARE any of you to go to one and not come back. Jeff | ||
