Hi, I'm new here and maybe this has been discussed. I'm thinking about a 14" .270 barrel for my encore and am wondering if you get the full .270 "benifit" from a barrel of that length? Thanks.retvsp

You won't get the same velocity out of a 15" tube as you would with a 22" or 24".But DANG CLOSE My 15" '06 gets 2570 fps with NBT's and 2600 fps with XLC's.My 22" '06 Mod-70 bolt rifle got about 2830 to 2850 fps with NBT's.Not bad for a handgun.

Thanks, I guess I knew it couldn't be the same, but just wondered if it's worth doing. The price is right so I think I will.
