I think I need an accurate 22. But I'm so wound up with other projects, maybe I don't want to fuss with reloading.

In the T/C factory barrels, which are the best accuracy? Which have good twists for rechambering?

Pete, You didn't say if it's a carbine or handgun barrel you wanted. There was a Virgin Valley custom 22mag barrel on ebay a couple of days ago for $199.00 I think it was a 12 or 13" bull in matte blue finish. Don't know if it's still there or not.
I don't know about buying a factory though. For a few more bucks you can get a custom. I will never buy a factory barrel as long as there are customs for a few $ more.

What do you intend on shooting with the barrel? I have an excellent shooting 14" 22 Hornet, have a very good shooting 14" .223 (after a good 10" and extra poor 14"), I also have a not so great 14" 22LR (after having a very good 10"). I have not had a lot of barrels like some of these other guys here ~ 15-16, but it appears on factory some barrels shoot and some don't. It is more the barrel itself than the caliber. I'm hoping when Mike B. gets done with his custom barrels and does some more rechambering, that 22LR to 22mag is one of the batches he will do. That's what will happen to my 14" 22LR if he does. I sent him an email asking how many calls he gets for this conversion but I see now his email has crashed. Anybody else wanting this caliber done? Maybe we can persuade him into a batch when he gets time. I hate for Sean to have the only one to brag about! [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Mike, (mbk) I am waiting for the same, .22LR to .22 mag also. It is a brand new unfire .22 Match sitting in the box ready to ship as soon as I here the word.
Have you gotten any rain out your way? Awful dry here.

Was thinking of a .22 carbine barrel for general plinking and maybe tree rats or bunnies. I don't really have an accurate small caliber rifle.

Well, 30-30 is small- but for plinkers, I have so much extra case capacity, I feel silly. Still... they drive tacks. Hmmmm.
