All of my frames are after the easy open conversion. I was looking at an older frame a guy was trying to sell today and noticed the frame had a hole drilled in it on the front of the frame. Was this normal for the frames of that time. Also, I noticed the cutout for the barrel on the front of the frame was a little different than newer frames.

Gary, Before the frame was converted to easy open, the pivot pin was located in that hole at front of trigger guard. I have an old style frame that has had less than 1 box of bullets fired thru it that I need to send to get retofited for easy open. It likes to lock up with newer barrels. Have to pull the hinge pin to get them to release.

This frame hadn't been converted to easy open. The hole was in the front of the frame, not on the sides. Right under where the frame pushes the extractor out.

Reckon I should look before leaping. My old one has the hole in the front right at the bottom of the hinge pin hole and just slightly above the pivot point.
