Mike,
Shortly after you began offering the Encore trigger job on CD, You came up with an updated trick for installing the trigger spring. I had a link to this but have lost it. Could you post it again? I have a second Encore frame coming and will want to tune it.
Thanks

I've been supplying a short "assembly pin" for some time now. It is nothing but a 3/32" roll pin that is used to install the spring in the sear before the sear itself is installed into the frame.

You lay the sear on the table or bench with the open area for the spring up. Press the spring into position and insert the assembly pin to hold the spring captive while you put the sear in place.

When you tap in the sear's pivot pin, you push the assembly pin out ahead of it, but the spring remains captive through the process.

Send me an S.A.S.E and a note requesting a pin. Glad to mail you one. I usually include one with Encore spring orders anyway.

Best tool I have seen yet was a set of pliers a young man in Alliance, NE fashioned after seeing my needle nose pliers in action. But his pliers are PERFECTION. They make installing the spring a breeze. He was supposed to give me a quote on them so I could supply them, but to date, no response.

If I get the time, I may develop it myself. Guess I could get a pic for ole 1buba to put on the website. Nothing says you cannot make your own.

Thanks Mike. Thats the info I was looking for. I should be able to locate a roll pin locally if I don't have one already kicking around the bench. If not I will send a sase to you. Thanks again.

Thanks Mike,
That trick works like a charm. Simplifies the whole process in fact.
I got the second frame all tuned in a lot less time. Both frames are glass smooth now.
Regards
Rick

Dave Strobeck (think I have the name right)turned me on to the idea. He was using the same method to install hammer springs in Contenders, which can be a pain also.

For the record, the pin for installing the Encore sear spring is 3/32"x5/8" long. A trip to the fasteners cabinet at the local hardware store should help if one does not want to wait for snail mail.

This information should be given to all the wives of Encore shooters..... keeps nasty language away from the yungin's ears, ya' know.

Looking at my box of pins, my first 1,000 is 'bout gone.
