Shooting the 7mm Dakota XP-100 is hard to put into words but, "gratifying" is a fairly good description.
While at the Bower LR Specialty Pistol Seminar I was able to put a number of rounds through my 7mm Dakota XP. This replaced my 7.82 Patriot XP and will be used for longer range hunting in the mountain for elk and mulies.
While still in the break in process, I put my barrel break-in load into Exbal (Pocket PC - 200 Grain Wildcat Bullet, 2650 MV, .850 BC, 2450 Elevation) and sighted it in @ 200 yards. My Kestrel also played a part here with barometric pressure and wind input.
Shot out to 600 yards and made a small correction on Exbal. Of course, there is cleaning taking place in this process.

The guys wanted me to jump out and attempt 1k with no sighters. I had not shot it at all at this distance, so I put 26.25 MOA in and 2 MOA in for wind (but I accidently clicked in 2.25 MOA) as this is what Exbal on my pocket PC called for. Exbal's info was right on, but I am the one who put "one" to many clicks in.
Shooting off a Harris Bi-pod (w/Pod-Lok) and a small leather bag filled with crushed corn cob media. Made a first shot connection on steel @ four O'Clock about 6-7 inches from center.
If I had only not clicked that extra quarter minute it would have been closer.
Of course, I was and still am extremely pleased.
The action work was done by Greg Tannel/Gre-Tan Rifles (orginally, it was my 7.82 Patriot XP) and everything else was done by Kirby Allen "APS". With the Holland QD brake recoil is basically nothing.

Nice going, Ernie. That is a long, long way out there, and I have the utmost respect for those who know their weapons well enough to get those type of results.

Maybe that shot also explains why I saw a mountain mulie tacking up a wanted poster with YOUR photo on it
