There is no doubt that the encore frame can take some serious presure and abuse from available calibers.

So why doesn't anyone make a barrel chambered for the 30-378? Or does someone?

I asked the guys at VVC this past fall and here's their answer. Feel free to correct me if I say someting incorect.



The encore can handel pressures according to case head size. The belted magnums are the largest that can be handeled safely with high pressure loads. When you move to a larger case head size, 45-70, 470 etc. They work because they operate at an overall lower chamber pressure. With a round such as the 30-378 you have a very large case head as well as high pressure.
