As posted below, finally getting to the .30x.221 and .30 Bellm (1.4") chambers this week, but may cut it short and take off for a week of pd shooting. Several factors affecting the final decision.

While a final statement has not been formulated, I am putting at least a 60 day moratorium on any new machine work. I am thinking more like 90 days since gunsmiths can no more judge time than fly to the moon.

I will accept work, but only with the understanding that most likely nothing that comes in during the next 90 days will even be looked at.

I have made really good progress catching up, but am far from on schedule with meeting my objectives. So the best thing to do is just not take more.

So the bottom line is: For the next 60-90 days, I am not soliciting new work, and if new work shows up, it will go into storage for the duration while I clean out other jobs on hand and get a batch of new barrels made to sell from inventory.

Once I get the upcoming batch of barrels made, emphasis will be on new barrels and less on reworking existing barrels.

Basically, if you are or were thinking about a project for a fall hunt, you are too late for fall of 2002. 90 days puts us to October, too late to do much for fall hunts this year.

Mike, You didn't say what you'll have. Carbine length or pistol length? Standerd or wildcats? Blue or stainless? I guess you'll let us get first crack at em. [Big Grin]

Don't know about you folks, but I'm starting to squirel away my money now! Don't know what thed optinos will be, but I DEFINATELY need an Encore 26" bull in .22 BR. I also need a 14" .22 Mag. I also need a something in 6mm, .25, and 7mm. Obviously, the choices would have to be wildcats...

I think life will be VERY good in about 90 days. :-)

Mike

Just got back from a week's vacation back east. Keep me posted on my 30 Bellm. I celebrated my 50th birthday today and was hoping for the little brown Santa to arrive with a package....but not yet.

I got side tracked on the .30s getting stuff ready for a blue batch, which still is not quite ready.

Guess I'd better get back to the little .30s asap.

And, Gregory, congrats on the big 5 "0" !!

1buba, aka Steve...... with all the work you have put into the website for me and the rest of the group, you won't have to save for long.

Now is as good a time as any to say thank you publicly for all the work you have done. You deserve a big "Atta Boy" from all of us. We all owe you. Thanks, and anyone else onboard that can offer some help or consideration for the www.bellmtcs.com webmaster, please do so.

All the best....Mike
