Hi All, just got a new toy. A Lone Eagle SSP. In 7BR. Not familiar with this cartridge. Anybody out there with any knowledge of this gun or cartridge? How do you think it will be for deer? I need dies and brass.
Please drop me a line if you can help me. All replies welcome. Thanks. Regards, Bobby

Sounds cool, I've always wanted to try one of the cannon breached ss pistols, one of these days.

As far as the 7BR, it is shortened .308, or 7-08 depending on how you look at it, 1.5" long. I believe there is data for it in the Nosler and possibly speer manuals. I don't know the performance off hand, but would expect it would be a fine deer round to at least 200 yds, perhaps a tad more. You should be able to get brass and dies from most any of the large re-loading suppliers. You may also have to buy 6mm BR brass, and neck it up. I wouldn't recomend getting .308 brass, fl sizing and trimming though.

bobb, you have a real good caliber for a handgun. It will work well in 10" or on up to a rifle, carbine length. Remington is making brass, I nwill warn you, if you buy the bulk stuff look it over REAL good. I bought abou 200 a year ago, had to pitch almost a dozen right off the bat. Neck splits, shoulder cracks etc...
Sierra has a lot of info on the 7 BR handgun. I am using H335, and H322 with some Sierra MK. Just getting started but the Sierra manual has helped a lot with their accuracy load.
The various SSP bullets should work well on deer.
