Just to let everyone know. "NO" the 475 Linebaugh case will "NOT" chamber in my 480Ruger barrel.

How long is the throat in your 480 tube? Try seating a cast bullet out to the first lube groove as a canalure. If it accepts the long loading, you have the same case capacity as the 475 Linebaugh

I did some comparison testing between some 44's a few years back in a 4 5/8" sbh, 7 1/2" sbh, and 10" contender. As I recall, the 300 gr cast load was doing 1200 fps in the 4 5/8", 1300 fps in the 7 1/2" and 1400 fps in the 10" contender.

In my 7 1/2" SRH, 21 gr H-110 easily pushes a 400 gr cast to 1200 fps, which should do an easy 1300 fps in a 10" encore, or ~1350 in a 12" tube. If you can long load bullets in your chamber, then you should have no problem getting a 400 gr bullet doing 1500 fps, only problem will be holding on
