I found this one at my local dealers, it is from the last production run, and was NIB. This one has the Laser Etching of the Cougars Head on the side plates instead of the Engraving used on the previous frames. I set this one up with Pachmayr Finger Groove Decelerator Grip and matching Pachmayr Forend.
This frame will serve as the host for my Super 14 .223 Remington Barrel (that I have not had time to shoot yet), and also for my Super 14 .30-30 Ackley Improved (that I am still fireforming brass for).
With the addition of this frame I now have a Blued Frame dedicated strictly for my Super 14 Match Grade .22 LR Barrel that I use for Rimfire Bench Rest Shooting. My other frame is Stainless-Steel and wears my 15" Stainless-Steel VVCG 6mm T/CU barrel.
In addition to the new frame a 2x7x32mm Burris LER Matte Finish Handgun Scope also followed me home the same day. I traded off my 2x6x32mm Bushnell Trophy Handgun Scope for the Burris. So far I have been super impressed with the 2x7x Burris, it's field of view is great, as is the depth of eye relief.
Other than this I have had a heck of a spring. My Brother just was diagnosed with Bone Cancer, my Oldest Daughter had to have surgery last week for some female problems. To add to all of this work has been NUTS, and I managed to throw my back out last weekend.
I have faith though, things have to start looking up sooner or later.
best wishes to your family larry. family is the most important thing to all of us. too many barrels for the amount of time you have to shoot them is a great problem to have i need more problems like that one. found a frame at a local shop that is in good shape. it's serial # is in the 201xxx range. it has the easy open feature i guess but still has a push button safety on the hammer. wonder how hard those are to change out yourself? i guess it would be fine as is though. never used this type of frame. i suppose it works with either rimfire or centerfire but without a switch on the hammer
