This is scary to shoot. Has anyone else shot a high powered rifle round out of a TC Encore?

Some of us have shot Encore pistols that would make the 30/06 look wimpy.. It's not all that bad it is just in your mind.

The 30/06 just isn't scary anymore to a lot of shooters.. But it is a good caliber though.

I'm shooting a 338-06 JDJ this is an old picture. It now wears a 2.5x8 Leupold and a rifle forend. I'm shooting 225gr slugs out of it! I also have a 30-06 Ackley Imp.

How about the 338 win mag, the 375 H & H mag, the 458 Win Mag, the 458 Lott, the 416 Rem mag, the 416 Rigby, the 470 Nitro Express, an on and on also the 50 alaskan that 750 gr Hornady A-Max bullets can be used in at over 1300 fps

You would have to push a 165 gr bullet 5900 fps to equal the momentum of a 750 gr at 1300.

If you are new to the world of Encores I suggest SSK industries for the big boys.

They aren't the only ones chambering for the big ones but they know what they are doing.

I'm talking pistols in these calibers too not rifles.

Do you actually know anybody who has shot a 458 Lott in an Encore pistol??? I didn't think so. I doubt anybody would even chamber an Encore rifle for the Lott.

TJC: The guy that owns Cast Performance Bullet Co. did own one. They really don't beat a 458 Win Mag by much in barrels of 14 inces or so.

SSK has done a few big ones along with the 470 Nitro in the Pistols.

Before you doubt somebody it would be nice to try to get some of the facts first

Try calling some of the custom barrel makers and talk with them.

The 458 Win mag will do 1900 plus with 500 gr Hornady's.

The Lott in a 14 inch will do maybe 75 fps more is about all.

Do some checking ok for you own edification.

These monsters can be shot through the encore pistol?!?
Wow! You must need a muzzle brake for that, cuase mines doesn't have one and I need to go double handed and hold it like hell for it not to fly out, pushing 165 grains! But my favorite is a 30/06 sabot bullets, all that concussion makes the weeds flatten for a split second on the range.

I hunt with, and regularly shoot, a 308 Encore pistol with no brake, and although I use the factory "rubber" grip, I really don't notice any recoil. Muzzle flip is pretty noticable and muzzle blast is horrific though.

I'd MUCH rather shoot it than a 44mag revolver with "hot loads"
