I recently picked up a 15 inch 250 Savage barrel for my Encore and was wondering if this is a common barrel for the Encore. I know it's not rare but I just haven't seen very many for sale. It shoots great by the way(for a factory barrel).

Steve-

The 15" .250-3000 was a limited run barrel, but I don't remember off the top of my head how many were actually produced. Mine was a good shooter (MOA or better with a number of loads) but didn't hold a candle to my XP, so I wound up selling it.

The 24" 6.5x55 was another limited-run offering for the Encore, and mine shot really well. But when I got a custom bull barrel in the same chambering, I sold it (and if memory serves, I may have sold it to you, right?) My 6.5x55 barrel was responsible for taking LOTS of wild hogs in our area...

Yep Bobby I bought it, still have it and shooting good. I bought one from Midway several years ago when they came out but it didn't shoot as good as this one does. I had thought about having Mike at OTT open the 250 Savage up to the improved version,I know it would technically be a wildcat instead of an Ackley round cause you wouldn't be able to set the barrel back. If it was limited run barrel maybe I should keep it as is. It shoots very good as is.
