Bobby,

It would be hard (Impossible) to sell this XP at the moment. Lot of time and work put into it, but thanks for the willingness to take it off my hands for such good price

Did some chronoing today and I have a speed of 2772 fps @ 15 feet from the muzzle. I need to find a way to calculate back to MV. It should be close to 2780 fps. This is what I hoped for. I thought I could get 2800 fps with this rig and I have done that, but my best accuracy load is 20 fps shot of 2800 (but it is close enough for me!).

Load consists of H-4350, Lapua brass, Fed Match primers and 140 A-Max.

I can push my 6.5-284 and get around 2850 FPS+ with 52.0 grains of H-4350 and still group five shot groups @ .5 at 100 yards, but don't have the desire to run the edge.

This is some pretty incredible velocity.

Hodgon's website lists their max load at...
H4350 45.5gr 2720fps out of a 24" barrel.

To what do you attribute your enhanced velocity you are experiencing?

Also what form of pressure testing are you using since you are at 6.5gr over their max published load?

XP,

Got my reamer print back from JGS today titled 6.5 Allen.

Kind of neat!!

Anyway, all my changes to the reamer dimensions checked out fine so they said the reamer shoudl be shipped by 8-30-04.

I've got everything ready to go but can not decide if I want to use one of my old Fajen laminated stocks or just order a H-S.

Time wise an H-S would be the way to go but I will have to decide here pretty soon.

Anyway, I will let you know how she shoots when its up and running. Looks like it may be killing some game this season yet. Hope so!!!

Good Shooting!!!

Don't mean to change the subject here, BUT just shot 1 3-shot .75" 200 yd. gp. with my 6.5-284-- same load as Ernie's. I'm gonna check it in some new Lapua brass next day or so-- but it was steadily getting smaller with 1 gr. increase from 48.5-50.5. I know this is gonna be my load for ITRC/hunting. 2703,2694,and2700 fps. Looks good. Thk. God!

I think you will want to go with the 338 Lapua with 300g SMK I am getting around 2500FPS with a 18" barrel and have shot 1 mile with this combo.
