Anyone here bought a G-2 Contender yet? If so, how do you like it compared to your old Contender frame? Give the good the bad and the ugly. I am a little concerned about the trigger pull. Don't much care for the T/C Encore triggers. Does T/C plan on making the G-2 in stainless for 2004? I haven't read anything on this subject in any of the magazines.

Got my first a couple weeks ago. Just as in the Encore frame, the pull is hard with no creep. I did the stoning via Mike Bellm as I have done on all my Encores and Contenders. I also replaced the stock spring with one of Mike's. The highest I could go was a #4 spring. #5 and higher, and I just touched the trigger, and it went off, also, the hammer would not rebound. The #4 breaks crisp and clean. I like the grip angle and there is more room for your "offhand" fingers to support without being mangled on the big boomers. I mounted 1 barrel to it and lockup is fine. I have not shot it yet. As far as s.s. versions, who knows. However, I am thinking about shipping to Metaloy Ind. and have them hard chrome it, just for s**ts and grins. Jeff

Jeff, if you make the sear notch more horizontal, you will stop the "push off" or failure to stay cocked. Once that is cured you should be able to go to lighter springs. If the lighter springs will not rebound the hammer reliably, shorten the hammer spring to give about .1" of free travel at the forward end of its stroke. The G2 trigger can be just as smooth as the Encore's. Mike

Thanks for the tips Mike. #4 is as light as I'll ever need to go. A #3 will do fine for hunting purposes. Jeff
