Well, last week was the first time PA allowed more than just flintlocks for the early doe season. So, I got to try mine on something other than paper. Was fortunate enough to harvest 2 does, 1 was a fat girl taken just north of Lake Raystown in Huntingdon Co. The other was a 1 1/2 year old taken on private land in Chester Co. I used Mike's C.D. and #3 spring as well as his hinge pin. RESULTS COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER! The shot on the Huntingdon Co. doe was a little over 110 Yards and I center-punched her just above the breast bone, 15 yard tumble and that's all she wrote. The Chester Co. doe was a 25 yard shot thru the left shoulder as she faced towards me. 40 yards later and she was down. I use 2- 50gr. pellets under a 295gr. Powerbelt bullet. Lots of tissue destruction on both and the rifle was flawless. Each shot went where I aimed and no doubt that Mike's products helped even more. I am veryyyyyyy happy. By the way, these were the only 2 deer I saw during the whole week.

JB-
Congrats on putting venison in the freezer. Our season starts Saturday, but I won't be hunting until Monday. A brisk front is due through here and should help spur plenty of deer activity. But we shall see...

The Encore is the king of muzzleloading rifles.

90 gr. of Triple 7 and a 295 gr. Powerbelt = 3/8" groups for me. [Smile]

First deer that walks in front of me next Monday morning is going down for the count! [Big Grin]

Hey next Monday is season opener for smoke pole in TN and so one has to forget work and other trivial things and go hunting.
Work will wait, hope the rain is gone by then and it dawns cool and crisp for the beginning of the best 60 days of the year!

OK, lets see, make that 100 grains of FFFG and .535 round ball . . . Nah make it 110 grains! [Roll Eyes]

Luck? [Smile]

Nah, I'm able to do quite a bit of hunting on my regular 6 days off. [Smile]

One of the advantages of working 8 straight 10 hour shifts is that you have 6 off afterwards.

Of course I have to drive about 5 hours to be able to hunt next week. Otherwise I'd have to wait two more weeks to get the smokepole into the woods.
