I bought one of the first Shilen barreled, Cooper 22 CCM rifles. The original brass was junk. Turned stuff that split about 75% of the time on the first firing. Then Cooper had Fiocchi make some and this nickel plated brass was the extruded stuff we are all accustomed to and had the proper annealed finish to be quite reloadable....All my Fiocchi brass carries a "17" headstamp but is 22 CCM-dimensioned.

My best results have been with either 1680 or 680 powder and small pistol primers. The 35 VMax should be a real winner in this little number.

My 22 Squirrel will shoot rings around this cartridge......I would strongly suggest exploring it before making up a 22 CCM....Dan Cooper sold me 1000 of the Fiocchi brass for $110 years ago but I suspect it's a little pricier than that now......and I don't think it can be formed from any other case........

Not to try and jump on you here but.... loading ammo for a chamber that doesn't exist? ooooh... never a good idea. Nothing worse than getting your barrel or gun only to find out your ammo won't chamber.

NOT!

Schroeder uses Hornet brass as the parent case which makes the necks at least .002" smaller than the original round. Anyone with a reamer will have one that used the original spec thus thicker brass at the neck. If i have Mike Sirois make one he will use my dummy rounds and it will be cut to my spec. SOOOOOO, matters not which direction i take with the barrel, i am covered.

Guess again.... [Razz]
