I've had a Bushnell 2x6 Trophy on backorder for about 1 1/2 months now and after a phone call to Bushnell they say it's going to be mid Aug. before any are available. [Frown]
Is anyone using the Weaver 2.5X8?
If so, How is it?? I need something to put on my new .308 Bellm, and I realy would hate to have to steal one off of another barrel!!
Thanks,

Bob

I see that Bob..... Strange.
Have you tried here?

How bout D&R Sports? I know they have the Elites in stock in either Matte Black or silver for $218.

Here's a 2x in matte>> http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=4590009
I have one of these on my Super Redhawk and it works great to 100yds. or so.

Never had a weaver but i've heard good things about them. IMHO, I think they took over the Simmons Gold Metal. [Wink]

I have the weaver 2.5-8 on my 15" .308 barrel and I love it. It was slipping in the leupold rings so I put it in some Burris zing rings with the plastic inserts and its rock solid now. only issue is that the eye relief change between 2.5 and 8 is several inches...I read somewhere that that is not the case with the Bushnell 3200 s. Check also Graf and Sons. Usually Natchez Shooters Supply has the best price on the Weavers
Good Luck, Dave

I've had a 2.5-8 Weaver for a few years now and I'm real happy with it. Have it mounted in a set of Leupold Cross Slot rings(weaver style)and I swap it around on different barrels as needed, right now it's sitting on my 15" VVCG Encore in 376 Steyr. I read somewhere that this scope is basically the same scope as the old Simmons 2.5-7 Gold Medal(I have both) and if you put them side by side you can't tell the difference except for the name.

Well by golly Bob I just ordered one from graf n sons, price was right and I too was back ordered on the 2x6 bushnell, cancelled now. I will get one tho when back in stock as I need 2 decent scopes.
I'm going to send my business lic. to Leupold and burris see what they will offer me for a dealer.
We need a reasonable priced source for these scopes, I'll let you know.
Wes
P.S. you get your package yet?

I finally ordered the 2.5x8 Weaver. I'll probably get one of the 2x6 Trophy's when they get stocked again.
Thanks for all the response's!

Wes, the package may be at work, I took yesterday off to get hay in the barn. I had about 12 ton delivered from Amity! I'll find out this morning at work and let you know!

Amity!! My old stompimg grounds, used to live over in Sheridan/Mac(minville) area. Spent many a hot summers day drinking icy colds and swimming out at Greens bridge.
Ahhh...those were the good ol' days. That place hasnt changed in 20 years. It's still along way down to the water.

Guys,

J.D. Jones has stated emphatically, that the 2.5-8X Weaver is definitely not the same scope as the Simmons Gold Medal. He wishes it was. He now recommends the Leupold 2-8X for a variable power pistol scope.
