I quess this should be directed to Mike but someone else might know what to do. I have a 222rem. barrel that he made for me. I have been using a forend made by Danzel Roberts on it. Today I tried to install a VVCG hanger bar on it and the bar bottoms out on the barrel before it makes contact with the dovetails locks. I didn't want to grind off the bottom of the hanger bar cause then I would have to grind off the screws, for they would bottom out in the dovetails, and then the forend would make contact with the barrel. Wonder if I could use a very small washer between the dovetail lock and the hanger bar? [ 09-14-2002, 04:20: Message edited by: Jules ]

Jules, I have been using this type of forend/hanger bar system for awhile: never had one bottom out on the barrel before! I do not see a problem with using small metal washers with the screws to space the bar up a bit - just make sure they are small enough in diameter that they do not protrude past the bar and into the hanger-bar channel on the forend.

Sean, It looks like the dovetail locks are a little shorter then the ones on the rest of my barrels.

I'm sure you've already tried to take the bar off and screw it onto the barrel upside down. Had to do it already for a temp fix until I could get the barrel channel opened up. Just a thought.

Outlaw, That puts the forend a little to far away from the barrel.
