I have g2 contender w/14 inch barrel in 204 ruger any advise as to scope brand and power.Accuracy is my biggest concern,I already have Leupold base w/low rings.w/regards | ||

For a pistol scope there is only one choice and that is the Burris 3x12 LER. It could use a rifle scope, but it is hard for me to use a rifle scope in the field on a pistol. Works fine on the bench, but I like to shoot them too much! I have shot a lot of groups less than 1/2" with pistol scope of around 6x, but the Burris is the scope I put on to see what the gun can really do. | |||

Get a Burris 3-12X. I have 3. One on a .222 Contender, one on a 7-08 Savage Striker, and one on a .223 Striker. I'm getting another Striker this week, in .243, and guess what scope I have to buy. Yep, another Burris 3-12. I also have a Burris 2-7, Bushnell 2-6, and a Redfield 2-7, on Contenders and Encores, but they don't compare with the power of 12X when trying for small groups. I have mostly Buris on all but two of my Contender pistols. The other two are Weaver 2.5-8X. To this point, I have seen no difference between the performance of the two, but the Burris seems to have just a little better optics. The difference is mainly the price. I still buy Burris, but the Weaver is almost $200 cheaper at $160 - $179. I think you would be happy with either. | |||

I have 5 Burris 3x12 and one Burris 2.5x7 with the PA adjustment. For me thats the only way to go. I wish Burris still made the 2.5x7 with the PA. | |||
