This post is to let Jules know that there is still interest in single shots, but the chance to shoot now is more important that typing. LOL... Here is a question though, now that it is time to go to the range - I just got a newer (SN4XXXXX) Contender frame so I can stop wasting time switching barrels at the range. Mounted the frame on carbine stock and attached custom carbine barrel. Barrel locks up O.K., but hammer will not stay cocked. Mounted a second custom carbine barrel and the same problem exists. The original TC pistol barrel worked O.K., then I took a custom pistol barrel and mounted that one and it is fine too. Have had this problem before and just changed frames and forgot about it. But now I think I need to know why. Any ideas? This is probably an old problem, but I have not seen it posted here yet. Thanks.

If the trigger guard is adjusted upward too high into the frame via the trigger guard return spring screw and its set screw on top of the grip tenon, the top of the trigger will hit the bottom of the barrel lug and release the striker. If the trigger engagement is set too short, the pull too light, or the trigger and striker surfaces too slick, the jarring caused by snapping a barrel shut too hard will also release the striker. In either event, if the striker is released from the trigger, it rotates the sear, and you will not be able to cock the hammer. You can "spot" the barrel lug on the bottom (step below the locking bolt slot) with a thin film of grease or ink it with a felt tip pen. Opening and closing the barrel a time or two will make a mark on the bottom of the lug.... just a small one, so look carefully. Mike
