I have a question & need a little clarification. Is the Encore 209x50 strictly black powder gun? What I mean is can you still put other barrels on that frame? Or is it some how modified that only a blackpowder barrel can be used on it? [Confused]

I have never handled one or seen one up close & don't have any knowledge on it whatsoever. Any info would be appreciated.

Hi R.J., Yes you can use the frame on regular barrels as well. It served double duty this past season until I invested in 2 more frames. Now I have a frame for each barrel I own, Contenders and Encores. Just love my 209x50, 2 or 3 .50gr. pellets under Powerbelt bullets and 3 shots at 100 meters will fit inside a 50cent piece. Hope this helps. Jeff

Rich,
As Jeff said, you can use any Encore barrel on an Encore frame. They are all the same. But you will need a different forearm for the standard rifle barrel. The ML forearm is made with a slot for the ramrod and won't fit the others. Seems like it has different size mounting screws as well. I'd check to be sure, but I'm too lazy to open the safe :-)

Thanks Guys
I really wanted to find out if it was interchangable with standard barrels. Now I know what I'm looking at !! It definiately makes the Encore more appealing to me. [Smile]

Just a thought. If you are going to buy an Encore, buy it as a pistol in any caliber you wish. You can then put any barrel they make onto the frame. But, if you buy it as a rifle, the ATF says that you cannot put a pistol barrel on that frame. These AS------ consider this the same as cutting down a rifle barrel to less than 16 inches. Another example of your tax dollars at work.
