Gary did you ever order that Black power barrel you were talking about? If so any details to fill us in with. In light of the changes in BP laws in NY the Barrel you talked about might be worth looking at.

Yes I've ordered the barrel from Van Horn. In fact, I expected to have received it by now. The AR muzzleloader season opens tomorrow so obviously I'll miss the opening weekend. I hoping I'll have it by the next weekend, though, but NOT optimistic right now. I thought I got the order in in time, but I guess not... Will let you know more when I get the barrel and shoot it some. Gary T.

Sorry to hear that you haven't Received it yet. I remember you saying that you were ordering one. NY just made it legal to put a scope on a BP gun during the Muzzle loader season this year & I was wondering how good of an option one of those barrels were? Please give some details when you are able to.

Maybe he dosen't do that many of them and has to make them from scratch??? How long has it been since he recieved your order?
My 35cal took about 10 days from the day he got my order to the day I got it back, and that's counting the weekend.
If your getting a forend with it, it will most likely take longer. Finish on a forend takes about 3 or 4 days to dry. 24 hrs. between coats...I think?
Give him a call.

It is Hunting season for Dave and during this time of year the wait for your barrel will double.
Still better than most.

Hey guys, Dave's e-mail confirmation of receipt of my deposit is dated 9/3/02.... Had the impression when I spoke w/ him that he had blued barrel blanks for the 50 cal, but not s/s barrel blanks. Knowing my track record w/ projects, I guess I should've placed my order much earlier. Oh well, it's not the end of the world; also, I can still use it in the December BP season after the regular modern gun season has closed. Gary T.

You guys were right--Dave was on a hunting trip. He responded quickly to my e-mail. He thought he'd told me 2 weeks earlier the barrel was ready... Don't know what happened, but the e-mail didn't make it to me... At any rate, I sent a money order yest so should have the barrel soon! Will let you know more as things develop further. Gary T.
