Sounds Like another politician with way too much time on their hands!!!! There is obviously a really big problem with 50 Caliber muzzleloaders in NJ.... Even though I'm not a Jersey Resident this angers me! To those of you who are residents please write to your represtatives. Don't let this kind of nonsence happen right under your nose.

Classified as a destructive device? I guess they have had too many tanks and APC's disabled by people using their .50 cal. Hawkens as tank busters.

No, there haven't been any uses of .50 caliber muzzleloaders in crimes in New Jersey, BUT THERE COULD -- and we have to be prepared for that day. It is in the best interest of the public that we take a pro-active step and outlaw these terrible weapons of wholesale death and mass destruction before any children or kangaroo rats get hurt. You need to understand that your rights are without value or meaning "If we can save just one life..."

Not that logic is consistently applied to gun legislation, but let's think about this. In the early 90's, the gun grabbers determined that high capacity magazine fed guns fueled violent crime. If the bill's sponsor is advocating that it's in fact large bore single shot firearms that are the problem, then I assume that she would have to acknowledge that the guns banned previously are actually not the problem and are more benign than indicated. Therefore, high cap mags for sub-50 cal guns should no longer be banned. Sounds like a good rider clause for the bill. Can't dispute the logic of it, now can she?
