Guys (and others who have one): I was sent a manual for my pistol the other day by e-mail and it says the company advises to keep the chamber lightly oiled. It doesn't take a genius to figure why, but have you tried it both ways? Pros, cons?

Yes, i read that also.... I DO NOT oil my chamber.....i would rather have it not eject the cases than have a oily chamber. It WILL still extract them without keepin the chamber lubed.

I agree with Mike, I don't oil my chambers either. So far, extraction is the only problem I can see with the Competitor.....never had a stuck case but I've had to tip the gun up to get the case out of the chamber because it's akward to remove the case unless you let it eject. Reread my post and figured I needed to clarify. When the breach of the Competitor is opened, it ejects the case......sometimes mine works, sometimes it doesn't.....even when it ejects properly, the hand that is opening the breach sometimes gets in the way and the ejecting case hits it and slides back into the chamber.... Hope that is a better explanation? [ 12-12-2002, 06:42: Message edited by: GonHuntin ]

Thanks for the replies. I was shooting mine for awhile before I got that recommendation without any problems too. The case breaks free from the chamber fine, but like GH says will sometimes hit your hand or something and slide back in. Have got to play with mine a lot more after season.
