Bob, I like Winchester 748 or Hodgdon H335 for the .223. Check either manufacturer's website for charge weights. I've never had a load of either shoot poorly for me. I think around 25 grains of H335 under a 55 grain projectile is what I use most commonly and it works great for me.

I use 26grn of Varget in my G2 with 50-55grn bullets.

I shoot 24.5 grains of H322 with 50 grain Sierra Blitz loaded just off of the lands. Will shoot under .400" all day long.

One of my favorites from years ago was Hornady 60gr v-max over H4895. I cant recall the exact charge weight but the load was very accurate.


Why is violence so widely condemned when it is such a huge part of our cultural heritage?
